Families Dealing with Alcohol/Drug Problems
Gain Help and Hope for Loved Ones
An education program for families dealing with a
loved one's alcohol or other drug problem is available free of charge
in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties. The program
is sponsored by PRO-ACT, a community-based organization promoting
recovery from addiction. PRO-ACT’s free Family Education Program
runs monthly and offers a place where the family and friends of
the addicted person can go for information, help and healing.
PRO-ACT’s Family Program covers:
- Understanding addiction;
- The impact on the family; and
- Developing a support network.
Registration is required, call 1-800-221-6333 Monday
through Friday between 9:00am and 5:00pm. For more information,

Dates and locations for the next Family Program are:
In Langhorne, Bucks County. Thursdays, February 2nd, 9th, and 16th,
7:00-9:00pm, Frankford Hospital, Bucks County, 380 N. Oxford Valley
Rd., Langhorne.
In Coatesville, Chester County. Saturday, February 4th, 10:00am-4:00pm
(lunch included), YMCA, 295 Hurley Road, Coatesville.
In Media, Delaware County. Tuesdays, February 14th, 21st, and 28th,
7:00-9:00pm, Media Fellowship House, 302 South Jackson Street, Media.
NEW LOCATION In Lansdale, Montgomery County. Thursdays, February
2nd, 9th, and 16th, 7:00-9:00pm, Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church,
1000 W. Main Street, Lansdale.
About PRO-ACT:
PRO-ACT has chapters in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and
Philadelphia counties and is working to establish the Family Education
Program in Philadelphia. PRO-ACT is a project of the Bucks County
Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc., a private non-profit
prevention, education, advocacy and intervention organization and
affiliate of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence,
